Loca Lounge is small wordmark, emblem, and branding design for an online-dance party. Loca Lounge was born out of love for dancing (to disco mainly), human connection, and making a “cyber” space to share and have in the age of COVID-19 where we can’t physically share space. This started as something small, with maybe 4-6 people joining on FaceTime, but as time went by garnered enough attention within social circles to transition into a Zoom-style format.
As the commissioned designer, I was tasked with designing an identity the best represent my client and her goals. I took inspiration from 70's typography, Lisa Frank, name plate jewelry prominent in Latinx culture, and my client's love for pink to come up with this very bold and kitschy design.
